Short Summary[]

The Pareia warriors, along with the other tribes, are magically transported to the first battle stage, a survival/battle royal with multiple ways to advance. A battle ensues between the some of the outside empire tribes mentioned in the previous chapter.

Long Summary[]

The warrior ceremony begins with all of the warriors being transported magically to some field for the first ritual. The rules are laid out, with defeating the opponents to gather points as the main objective. More points are given for neutralizing the opponent as opposed to killing, and merely surviving the trial will allow you to pass. We are shown our Pareia team, and Thrint has fallen sound asleep from the previous ordeal, and has to be hidden away. Triquel shows off some of his magician abilities, and Lakri lets the Pareia team know that their special condition this trial is to gather a total of 60 points as a team. This is punishment from the previous situation, and the team accepts.

We are now introduced to the 8th prince of the Inama Empire, Prince Marudun. He has decided that it is best for him to just wait out the trial, but another outside empire tribe attacks them, the Homebecker Kingdom. We then learn that Prince Marudun's brothers interefered with his coming to the desert's warrior ceremony. We learn that Hombecker has one force user, Luis, captain of their royal knights. Prince Marudun's bodyguard is force capable as well and faces Luis head on when he attacks the prince.

We end with a sneak attack on the Prince being foiled by the Prince himself, and he states that he is about to prove to them that not all fat men are slow.
