Short Summary

Tensions between the Pareia Tribe warriors and the empire continue to rise. Noya learns more information about what is going on from Maeimaria. Pere continues to feel pressure by Yulian.

Long Summary

Yulian and Thrint's sparring session begins this chapter. It doesn't last long, however. Thrint's attack on Yulian is dodged, but strikes a warrior from the empire instead. This further stirs up the tensions between the two groups.

We are then shown Noya and Maeimaria having a discussion over "tea", or this world's equivalent. Noya does not seem to happy about the situation, and he then starts looking upon the warriors ritual and Yulian's team. He and Maeimaria also discuss the unusual nature of the warrior's ritual, to which she reiterates the existance of the outsiders from the empire, and the need to take them out.

The scene cuts back to the desert warriors and the empire warriors confrontation. The empire leader has decided to take the rations from Yulian's group, getting instant retribution from Shubeon. After another stern warning, Yulian head-butts the leader and forces the others to submit, but decides again against actually killing anyone. He shows restraint and mercy to the non warriors who were forced to come, and the other Pareia warriors follow suit.

The chapter ends with [Pere Provoke|Pere]] self reflecting on his position within the other warriors from the tribe, and continuing on his struggle to surpass his brother.
