Silence was the ruler of the Silence Empire and the father of Shaone, Saira Lonnez Silence, and Shareulo. As a young Emperor, Silence was said to have been an incredibly forceful leader and successful commander. He was a king and a god to his people and ruled with a firm hand, keeping his Empire prosperous and dominant among the continent.
Appearance[]
Silence is a noble and proud man, but age and illness have gotten the better of him and he has appeared thin and weak.
Personality[]
Silence is a proud and tyrannical ruler, he is the final word of law in his kingdom - and firmly believes it is his right. He is fair, but not kind, and is constantly manipulating others into conflict in order to best suit his aims. He cares for his sons, but is mostly disappointed in their lack of ability (in his opinion).
Story[]
Presumably Silence has been responsible for sending Janet to Pareia, and overseeing much of the diplomatic relations of the Empire. Due to failing health however, he is rarely seen in person.
After Yulian defeats Laddens, leaving the Empire's asset wounded, Silence steps in to insist that the Young Glow be considered innocent due to the laws of a duel. When some of the nobles in his court oppose his decision, he beheads a duke without hesitation to put them (particularly Lawrence) in their place.
A year or so later, Silence is in extremely poor health and bedridden. He meets with Shaone, and expresses disappointment in his children and their lack of ability compared to Silence himself even though he has consistently played them against each other. He did believe Lonnez had potential, but her gender made her worthless as an heir. As his son leaves, Silence wishes he had helped his children more, as Shaone cannot see the plot right in front of him
While Shaone is away, Silence passes away from his illness. The timing of this is pretty convenient however, and due to the circumstances that follow, it is possible, if not likely, that the Emperor did not die of completely natural causes.
Power and Abilities[]
The Emperor has displayed little personal ability, but his power over the Empire is unquestioned and his followers will kill without hesitation. He is an experienced politician - though his absolute power renders many typical negotiation tactics moot.
In his youth it is likely that Silence was an able warrior and potent commander.
